Growing Food: Accessible and Sustainable Gardening for All

Four college volunteers smiling and posing together on the farm, capturing a moment of teamwork, learning, and community involvement in sustainable agriculture

A person does not need to have a large piece of land to be able to grow what they like. It is for this reason that we teach our volunteers how they can grow food in five-gallon buckets, raised beds, vertical gardens or empty rice bags.

Over the years, we have hosted kids, students and adults interested in learning how to grow. We have hosted student volunteers from Prince George’s County Public Schools, The Model Secondary School for the Deaf (MSSD) in Washington DC, Howard University, University of Maryland College Park, Bowie State University, and Gallaudet University.
