Become a Volunteer
Asawana Farms is a Southern
Cameroonian / Ambazonian farm growing Specialty Vegetables in Upper Marlboro, MD
Asawana Farms prides itself in providing volunteer opportunities for kids, high school, college students and adults to learn where their food comes from, and most importantly to learn how to grow their own food.
Growing Food: Accessible and Sustainable Gardening for All

A person does not need to have a large piece of land to be able to grow what they like. It is for this reason that we teach our volunteers how they can grow food in five-gallon buckets, raised beds, vertical gardens or empty rice bags.
Over the years, we have hosted kids, students and adults interested in learning how to grow. We have hosted student volunteers from Prince George’s County Public Schools, The Model Secondary School for the Deaf (MSSD) in Washington DC, Howard University, University of Maryland College Park, Bowie State University, and Gallaudet University.
