Our mission is to empower refugees and IDPs through innovative farming. We aim to bridge the gap between African Americans and the Motherland by growing ethnic vegetables and promoting self-sustainability. We inspire Marylanders to cultivate their own gardens and connect with their cultural roots.

Asawana Farms is a State of Maryland Department of Agriculture Certified Local Farm Enterprise, Certification Number: MDA23-0100. We are part of the Watkins Park Incubator and a minority Afro-Caribbean Specialty crops farm located in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
We provide specialty crops to people in the DC metro area. We grow African eggplant, bitter leaf, Okra, Ugu, Ewedu and callaloo.
